Delights of Golden Milk Lattes and beyond!

Delights of Golden Milk Lattes and beyond!

Golden milk is a spicy, sweet, earthy and creamy delight. This drink is inspired by haldi doodh, a traditional Indian drink made with turmeric, milk, and sometimes other spices. Turmeric has been used for centuries in Indian Ayurveda medicine to treat a variety of ailments.
Turmeric is the main ingredient in golden milk and the source of its bright yellow color. Turmeric contains a compound called curcumin, which has powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
Curcumin has been shown to have a number of health benefits, including:
  • Reducing inflammation
  • Helps relieve joint inflammation
  • Boosting the immune system
  • Improving brain function and memory
  • Raising overall wellness and joy
In addition to turmeric, our golden milk contains Saigon cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, and black pepper. These spices create a balanced chai-tasting latte and also have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, and they enhance the absorption of curcumin by the body. Another special ingredient we add to our blend is Marshmallow root, this helps soothe our digestive system and offsets turmeric's inherent drying qualities, it also makes this latte extra creamy!
Here's how to make a comforting Golden Milk Latte at home:
Ingredients:
Instructions:
  1. Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan.
  2. Warm over medium heat until the milk is steaming and the spices are fragrant.
  3. Pour the golden milk into a cup and enjoy!
*tip - there will usually be some spice paste at the bottom of your cup. No need to drink this. The spices' flavor and benefits have been infused into the milk. Golden milk can be enjoyed hot or cold.
So you're completely in love and looking for more ways to intake our Golden Milk blend?
This spice blend is a staple in our kitchen and we love using it in so many different ways. Some of our favorites include: adding to smoothies or baked goods, sprinkling on honey-buttered sourdough toast, or seasoning savory dishes like roasted veggies, soups and stews. I sometimes use it to replace pumpkin spice or curry powder.
