Butterfly Pinning with Lady Starlace✨

Description: 

Let’s pin butterflies and make some art! In this class you’ll learn the techniques and skills needed to pin and preserve butterflies. You’ll then have a guided practice to pin your own. Afterwards, you’ll then be given a pre-pinned specimen and shadowbox to create an art piece. All the adornments you could want will be provided—geodes, crystals, flowers, paint, and more. By the end you’ll leave with a fully created oddity artwork, a pinned butterfly to create a second piece with, plus all the pinning supplies and knowledge to do it at home.

No need to bring supplies.

Meet your facilitator:

Sydney is a wife, mom, and full time artist. She discovered her love of bugs in her high school biology class and went on to get a dual degree in zoology and environmental studies. She’s created insect art since 2022 with a preference for butterflies, but has also worked with spiders, scorpions, beetles, and cicadas. She loves spending time outside with her family, rollerblading, paddle boarding, hiking, thrifting, going to the gym, and doing anything creative. If you approach her about fantasy books, she’ll probably ask if you want to start a book club with her.

Ages: This event is best for ages 14 and up.

Cancellations and refunds: 50% (of registration cost) fee will apply for cancellations made after September 18th, 2026. If you need to cancel before the 18th, please call or email us asap for a full refund. No refunds for no shows.
