Local, Raw Honey from the Heart of Wayne County
This exceptional honey comes from our neighbors Jim and Jane Todd, dedicated beekeepers working just southwest of Wooster near the scenic Killbuck Marsh. Their honey is raw, unpasteurized, and harvested straight from the bees that forage on local wildflowers and woodland blooms—bringing you a truly local taste of Ohio’s natural beauty.
The Todds maintain an apiary of around 100 colonies, all descended from feral swarms native to western Wayne County. These bees are uniquely adapted to the region and are carefully bred for health and productivity. Every hive is regularly inspected and certified through Ohio’s state bee program, ensuring high standards of care and sustainability.
Their approach to beekeeping is both regenerative and chemical-conscious: treatments for varroa mites are used only when needed, and always with organic acids—never synthetic chemicals. In addition to their honey, they also offer strong overwintered nucleus colonies for fellow beekeepers, featuring locally raised queens bred for resilience.
If you’re looking for local honey that supports sustainable farming and healthy pollinators, this is the one. Pure, responsibly harvested, and full of the wild flavors of northeast Ohio.
