Let's go beyond the trendy café latte and experience the true essence of Japanese green tea. We are deeply honored to host a special, intimate matcha gathering led by Yoriko Hongo (Natalie's mother), visiting us from Los Angeles and Kyoto, Japan.
As a native of Kyoto, Yoriko brings a lifetime of heritage, friendly wisdom, and cultural tradition to our space. It is through her care and connection that Gnat and Bee is able to source our Japanese green teas directly from small family farms in Uji, Japan.
In this special gathering, Yoriko will share the rich history and cultural significance of matcha. She will demonstate traditional Japanese tea ceremony, and teach how to gracefully use authentic matcha tools. You will sip our ceremonial matcha and enjoy a dessert that compliments the tea. More than just a culinary skill, you’ll explore how to weave the intentional, grounding practice of matcha into your own self-care and mindful daily rituals.
Spaces are limited for this rare, heartfelt experience. Join us for an afternoon of story, tradition, and shared warmth.

- Space is limited, your spot will be held after paying for registration.
- How to register: Add this item to your cart and complete payment during checkout. You will receive a reminder email before class. If you are signing up for another person, or multiple people - please include their names in the order special notes. Thank you!
- Ages: This event is open to all ages.
- Cancellations and refunds: 50% (of registration cost) fee will apply for cancellations made after July 13th . If you need to cancel before the 15th, please call or email us asap for a full refund. No refunds for no shows.
- Accessibility: This class is being held in our upstairs community space, we apologize that it is not ADA accessible.
